All the animals pictured on this site have been rescued in some capacity. The rabbit is named Gopher. Her mother over cleaned her ears as a kit and left her with nubs. She needs a little extra help keeping cool during the summer because of this. The rooster was given to me by my fiance's mother. He was a sickly chick that had a pretty bad case of pasty butt, a condition brought on by stress that causes diarrhea. I nursed him back to health, and as you can see below, he turned out beautifully. His name is Nugget. The box turtle was given to us by a friend of a friend that was moving and could not take her with them. Her name is Svedka. -A Little Information About The Hot And Cold Packs- The hot packs are made with cotton fabric and filled with cracked corn. They work great for muscle cramps, period cramps, growing pains, back pain, neck pain, and as a hot compress. Other uses include temporary animal heat pads, hand warmers, bed warmers, and body warmers. Simply throw the hot pack(s) in the microwave for 1 minute. If you want them warmer, shake them around to mix the corn inside around to prevent burning or scorching, and microwave again in 30 second intervals, checking the heat pack and shaking it, until it is to your desired temperature. Be careful. They can get very hot, very quickly! Care and caution should be exercised when removing the hot pack from the microwave and while using the hot pack. I can also make cold packs. These would be filled with white rice. Just toss them in the freezer for about an hour and they are ready to go. Please exercise caution as they can be very cold. I would recommend placing a small hand towel between them and your skin to prevent a cold burn or placing the cold pack over clothing on the affected area.
